ALAN TAYLOR
Alan Taylor is a seasoned advisor to the firm’s healthcare clients, drawing on more than thirty years experience in public relations, marketing and journalism.
For 19 years, Taylor served as Vice President of Public Information at Carolinas HealthCare System, the nation’s third largest public healthcare system with 29 hospitals. Under his leadership, he and his staff won numerous awards for marketing and public relations efforts, while the healthcare system went from a third place position in the community to market dominance. While at CHS, Taylor faced a wide array of strategic challenges and opportunities, including certificate of need campaigns, system restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, launching new service lines, and crisis communications. Taylor also managed many issues that garnered the national spotlight, such as the deployment of CHS’ mobile hospital to Waveland, Miss after Hurricane Katrina.
Prior to joining Jarrard Phillips Cate & Hancock, Inc., Taylor was President of PR Solutions, Inc. in Charlotte, handling public relations and communications issues for organizations spanning a variety of industries.
He began his career as an award-winning television reporter and anchorman for more than 12 years, including work at WBTV in Charlotte, NC and WIS-TV in Columbia, SC. Taylor is a member of Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development and a member and past President of the Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society.
