Molly Cate


A founding partner of Jarrard Inc., Molly Cate is a healthcare thought leader and seasoned communications advisor who counsels clients in times of change, challenge or opportunity. Cate brings more than a decade of experience in media relations, corporate messaging and grassroots campaigns for healthcare organizations across the United States.

Cate is responsible for thought leadership, branding and strategic positioning for our firm. Additionally, she authors our nationally followed “Inside Baseball” newsletter, which covers Nashville’s $40 billion healthcare industry.

Cate worked closely with the Nashville Health Care Council to create the “Healthcare Industry Timeline: A History of Nashville’s Health Care Community,” as well as the “Nashville Healthcare Industry Family Tree.” She is a member of the inaugural class of the Nashville Health Care Council Fellows Program; a winner of the Nashville Business Journal’s 40 under 40 awards; and a winner of Nashville Medical News’ “2013 Women to Watch.”

In addition, she is a former board member of Leadership Health Care and a current board member of the Professional Advisory Board of the Middle Tennessee State University journalism program. Cate earned the Tennessee Hospital Association’s Community Service Award for her work as a healthcare business reporter.

Cate was previously a public affairs advisor with the healthcare practice of The Ingram Group. Before her work there, she was a highly regarded healthcare business reporter for Nashville Post magazine, NashvillePost.com and the Nashville Business Journal. Her career began as a reporter for the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Cate earned her Bachelor of Arts in communications from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and trained in crisis communications and negotiations at Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation.
