Molly Cate is a co-founding partner of Jarrard Phillips Cate & Hancock, Inc., which is one of America’s top 10 healthcare strategic communications firms and is solely focused on providers.

A respected healthcare thought leader and experienced advisor, Cate leads and manages the firm’s Chicago office. She counsels clients in times of change, challenge or opportunity and brings more than a decade of high-level experience in change management, media relations, crisis and issue management, and strategic partnership communications for healthcare organizations across the United States.

Cate worked closely with the Nashville Health Care Council to create the “Healthcare Industry Timeline: A History of Nashville’s Health Care Community,” as well as the “Nashville Healthcare Industry Family Tree.” A graduate of the inaugural class of the Nashville Health Care Council Fellows Program, she is a former board member of Leadership Health Care and the Professional Advisory Board of the Middle Tennessee State University journalism program.

Cate is a winner of the Nashville Business Journal’s “40 under 40” awards and was named one of Nashville Medical News’ “2013 Women to Watch.” Also, the Tennessee Hospital Association presented her with their Community Service Award for her body of work as a healthcare business reporter.

Before establishing Jarrard Inc., Cate was a public affairs advisor with the healthcare practice of The Ingram Group. Prior to that, she was an esteemed healthcare business reporter for Nashville Post magazine, NashvillePost.com and the Nashville Business Journal. She began her career as a reporter for the Chattanooga Times Free Press. Today, Cate maintains her  journalism edge as author of Jarrard Inc.’s popularInside Baseball report.

Cate earned her Bachelor of Arts in communications from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and trained in crisis communications and negotiations at Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation.
