Shelley DuBois brings a decade of editorial experience to her role at Jarrard.

Prior to joining the firm, she worked for Nashville-based public affairs firm Hall Strategies. While there, she wrote state and federal policy for industry association Life Science Tennessee and launched and managed the organization’s successful Mentor Network. She also worked on campaigns including Insure Tennessee and legislation to enable an SBIR/STTR -matching program. For other clients, DuBois wrote everything from tweets to articles to quarterly reports.

Before joining Hall Strategies, she covered health care for the business desk at Nashville’s paper of record, the Tennessean. During her time there, she won Tennessee Press Association and Green Eyeshade awards for her work on health care reform and the Tennessee opioid crisis.

Before joining the Tennessean in 2013, DuBois wrote for Fortune Magazine in New York. She has also worked as a producer for National Public Radio’s weekly radio show “Science Friday.”

DuBois graduated with a master’s degree from New York University’s Science, Health and Environmental Reporting program in 2009. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in biological anthropology and a minor in Spanish literature in 2007.
