David Jolley, APR

David Jolley is a 40-year, accredited and award-winning public relations/public affairs veteran specializing in issues, crisis and reputation management. He provides an experienced and strategic approach to prepare for, manage and recover from crises and other challenges.

Jolley was previously vice president of public affairs at Geisinger Health System, handling a wide spectrum of issues, crises and challenges associated with mergers and acquisitions, the development and growth of an integrated healthcare system (including hospitals and surgical centers, a 1000+-member physician clinic, health plan, research centers, medical school and 30,000+ employees); medical malpractice and other legal proceedings, labor campaigns and negotiations, technology and information security, finance and taxation, community and government relations.

Accredited by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Jolley is a contributing author of the book “Healthcare Mergers, Acquisitions and Partnerships: An Insider’s Guide to Communication” by David Jarrard; co-author and editor of “Reinventing Health Care: The Geisinger Health System 2001-2015” by Glenn Steele, Jr., M.D, Ph.D.; and “ProvenCare: How to Deliver Value-Based Healthcare the Geisinger Way” by Glenn D. Steele, Jr., M.D., and David T. Feinberg, M.D. He writes a column for the “Wilkes-Barre (PA) Times Leader” newspaper, and has published articles in “Public Relations Tactics,” “Spectrum,” and other business and industry publications.

Prior to Geisinger, Jolley held management and leadership positions in the book publishing/production, magazine production, and marketing industries. His experience also includes directing healthcare administrative divisions, medical staff departments, support services, development and institutional advancement.

He is a volunteer leader with the Diamond City Partnership, promoting Downtown Wilkes-Barre to attract business, residents and visitors to Northeast Pennsylvania, and serves on the Public Policy Committee and Government Affairs Council for the Greater Wyoming Valley (PA) Chamber of Business and Industry.

Jolley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Communications at Wilkes University, and guest lectures on public relations, crisis management, writing and other related topics at various institutions of higher learning and other venues.
