Prior to joining Jarrard, Jones served as Sr. Communications Specialist at Dallas-based UT Southwestern Medical Center. Her work there ranged from news reporting to crafting strategic copy for internal initiatives. She also developed processes for nurse communications platforms and spearheaded team member appreciation campaigns.
Previously, she was a Communications Specialist within the College of Information at the University of North Texas. There, she honed her media relations skills, earning coverage for faculty members awarded large grants. During her time at UNT, she also developed and launched communications and social media plans for the Linguistics, Data Science and Information Science departments.
Earlier, in Cincinnati, she wrote about health disparities and the impact on the most vulnerable populations as Communications Manager for Closing The Health Gap a non-profit agency focused on neighborhood health. At this non-profit, she earned coverage for events designed to raise health literacy, improve outcomes and provide access to health screenings.
Jones spent 10 years as a broadcast news reporter, covering beats including crime, religion, civil rights and education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia.
