Prior to joining Jarrard Inc., Kearns held key positions in the areas of leadership development, learning and organizational effectiveness for Kaiser Permanente (KP), a national integrated healthcare system with approximately 300,000 employees providing care to over 12.5 million members. His team’s work at KP was a multiple-time recipient of Chief Learning Officer Magazine’s Learning Elite Award and its editor’s award for fostering senior leadership program commitment.
Previously, Kearns had served as system-director of leadership development and consulting for the University of Colorado Health System where he was responsible for leadership development, succession planning and performance management. M&A was a major theme during that time which saw the merger of three legacy health systems (University of Colorado Hospital, Poudre Valley Health System and Memorial Health System) and the acquisition of multiple physician practices. Kearns’ internal consulting work included critical dialogue facilitation between administration c-suite, physician leaders, nurse leaders and clinical teams.
Kearns has a doctorate degree in organizational psychology, with a specialization in leadership, from University of the Rockies (acquired by University of Arizona Global Campus), a master’s degree in organizational development from Central Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Kevin completed his doctorate practicum hours at the Center for Creative Leadership in Colorado Springs, CO.
