Prior to joining Jarrard, duGard Owens was founder and CEO of the award-winning strategic communications firm, duGard Communications (dGC), headquartered in Nashville. Under her leadership, dGC developed strategic positioning, public relations and communications, as well as media relations initiatives for clients. Throughout her career, she has been credited with creating measurable results that support growth, resolution and success within mid-size businesses, nonprofits, corporations and major brands. Additionally, she is adept at building community engagement and awareness to achieve goals for government-related entities.
Earlier in her career, duGard Owens served as marketing director with HCA’s TriStar Health System, director of communications with DCI Donor Services, account supervisor with BOHAN and vice president of marketing and communications for the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce.
DuGard Owens earned her BBA with a marketing concentration at North Carolina Central University. She is deeply involved in the Nashville community, currently serving on the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee board, the Family and Children’s Services Advisory Board and as vice chairman for Nashville PBS. She is immediate past chair of the Nashville Children’s Theatre.
