Prioritizing Partnerships That Benefit Patients and Physician Reputation

THE CLIENT CHALLENGE

We were engaged to elevate the national reputation of industry-leading physicians at a West Coast academic medical center aspiring to climb in U.S. News and World Report rankings with a modest budget for paid partnerships. Physicians also sought additional opportunities to reach patients with rare conditions outside of their traditional service area.

THE SOLUTION

We first researched and identified patient advocacy organizations for participating service lines.

Next, we developed a three-tiered system for partnership consideration based on the opportunities available to reach patients and level of engagement experienced with representatives of each potential partner

We then presented findings to department chairs and facilitated conversations to discuss specifics of participation ranging from paid inclusion in physician finders and clinical trial lists to providing subject matter expertise to support groups, conferences, educational content, webinars, scientific panels and more.

We also created a custom dashboard to track participation by physicians and document resulting patient referrals and connections with referring physicians.
