Before joining the firm, Kim directed corporate communications for two healthcare organizations: Central Maine Healthcare, a three-hospital system, and InterMed, P.A., the largest physician-owned medical group in Maine. Her strategic counsel, storytelling abilities, writing skills and advocacy background helped advance their goals during periods of rapid change.
She also guided communications for regional units of the American Red Cross to inspire volunteerism and charitable giving for unprecedented back-to-back national hurricane responses and to engage team members during an organizational restructuring. At the Maine Legislature, she earned positive coverage for her leaders and caucus amid many competing media narratives.
Kim previously worked for 14 years in daily journalism, first at bureaus of The Associated Press in New Hampshire and Maine. She then reported for The News & Observer in North Carolina and the Portland Press Herald/Maine Sunday Telegram, covering beats including public safety, courts, business and state and local government.
A native of California, Kim holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Stanford University and earned her master’s in journalism from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
