Integrally involved with the firm’s strategic positioning and business development, she also serves as the voice of the firm, leading our editorial/content operation. Her client work has focused on aspects of branding, thought leadership and crisis management.
Earlier in her career, she served as director of corporate communications at Hospital Corporation of America. There, she focused on internal communications during a time of sweeping change for the organization – including a federal investigation, restructuring, spinoffs, downsizing and its successful rebranding.
Prior to HCA, Baxter was an award-winning business editor at The Tennessean, Nashville’s daily newspaper. She also served a stint as a Money reporter at USA TODAY. She began her career in the communications office at University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas.
Outside of healthcare, she spent a decade as a full-time, professional artist, represented by galleries and in collections throughout the Southeast.
Deeply plugged into the Nashville community, Baxter has chaired numerous fundraisers and served on boards including The Conservancy for The Parthenon & Centennial Park; Watkins College of Art, Design & Film; The Harpeth Hall School, Nashville Children’s Theater and the Nashville Tree Foundation.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art at Southern Methodist University.
