Damareus Barbour leverages his strong background in healthcare advocacy, policy and issues management to help our clients engage with and activate key stakeholders on high-impact issues.
With more than a decade of strategic communications experience, Barbour has worked across the healthcare landscape to lead advocacy, disease awareness, public health and thought leadership campaigns. During his time at the American Hospital Association as an advocacy and member communications specialist, Barbour worked with members to highlight and disseminate best practices on a variety of topics, including building strategic alliances with community-based organizations, addressing health disparities and developing hospital-based violence prevention programs.
Prior to joining Jarrard, Barbour served as a public affairs director at M Booth Health, a full-service healthcare communications agency advancing landmark developments in global health and medicine.
Barbour holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a focus on public relations from the University of Georgia.
