In New Mexico, the Medical Malpractice Act (MMA) faced substantive revisions in the legislature for the first time in decades. Systems across the state wanted to speak with a unified voice and drive legislative action that considered the needs of all New Mexicans to build a sustainable foundation that would encourage clinicians to practice in New Mexico. Providers also faced significant opposition from a group funded by New Mexico Trial Lawyers.
