Public Opinion Survey & Research Analyst

Jarrard is seeking a Public Opinion Survey & Research Analyst with 2-5 years of experience to join our team. This person will be responsible for designing, conducting and analyzing surveys related to public opinion on healthcare-specific issues through a political/public affairs lens.

Building off Jarrard’s strong foundation of national- and state-level public opinion research, the Public Opinion Survey & Research Analyst will further develop small geography research capabilities for the company. Their work will help inform critical planning on client projects, as well as Jarrard’s strategic initiatives and thought leadership.

The Public Opinion Survey & Research Analyst will be embedded within Jarrard’s Issues and Advocacy Service Line and will partner with practice leadership to identify research priorities and opportunities. The ideal candidate is a team player with exceptional strategic thinking skills, intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving capabilities. They have a deep passion for translating research findings into actional insights, campaign strategy and messaging.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop survey instruments to gather data on political attitudes, opinions and behaviors.
  • Design survey questions that are clear, unbiased and statistically valid.
  • Implement surveys using various methodologies, including phone interviews, online surveys and focus groups.
  • Manage survey logistics, including sample selection, data collection and quality control.
  • Analyze survey data using statistical software to identify trends, correlations and patterns.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing survey findings.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret survey results and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Stay informed about political and healthcare developments and emerging issues that may impact survey design and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and data privacy regulations in survey research activities.

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Sociology, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in survey research, preferably in a political, public affairs, or healthcare context.
  • Strong understanding of survey methodology, sampling techniques and questionnaire design.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, Tableau or similar tools).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting findings to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Familiarity with ethical considerations in survey research and data collection.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability to evolving research methodologies, objectives, and priorities.

  • Jarrard has offices in Chicago and Nashville with a hybrid work model in place. Will consider remote geographic locations as well

Salary range: $100,000-$115,000, plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
