State of Physician Workforce: Physicians’ Trust Continues Decline

Trust in leaders and organizations has declined across society. Healthcare is not immune.

In 2023, we saw worryingly low trust in leaders among physicians. Today, those low levels have slipped further. It’s a trend echoed in our 2024 State of the Nursing Workforce and years of data from the American public.

Though significant challenges and risks exist, the data also suggest a path to building a stronger work environment by capitalizing on opportunities with better communication and team culture.
