Prior to joining Jarrard, Woods served as a coordinator in the regulatory affairs, advertising and promotion department of a major pharmaceutical company in Illinois. There, she spearheaded internal department communications and served on the change management team for a major software transformation. Additionally, she worked with clinical teams to ensure clinical trial recruitment materials followed FDA guidelines. Previously, Woods honed her writing, social and PR skills at several public relations and marketing internships in various industries such as CPG, luxury jewelry, and higher education.
Woods earned a Bachelor of Arts with the highest honors in journalism and mass communication from the University of Iowa, and her Master of Science in health communication from Northwestern University. During graduate school, she became interested in and exploring the ways different groups of people engage with health content online, and how health misinformation can take hold and spread.
