Rick Toller

Rick is a results-driven communications strategist and practitioner with a proven track record developing and implementing strategic communications programs specializing in crisis communications and reputation recovery.

Spanning two decades serving in multiple leadership roles, he provides strategic counsel to leaders across the healthcare continuum, including hospital systems, providers, payors, medical device companies, supply manufacturers and healthcare IT providers. Accredited by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), he is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)

Most recently, Rick served as SVP and Chief Communications Officer at Wellstar Health System in Marietta, Georgia. As a member of the executive management team, he led and guided all aspects of Wellstar’s internal and executive communications acting acts as chief spokesperson and key strategic advisor to the CEO, Board, and other senior leadership.

Serving of counsel to our firm, Rick specializes at directing response/recovery campaigns related to infectious disease and pandemics preparation/response, data breaches, M&A, labor issues and other threats to business operations including revenue cycle management, sustainability initiatives, supply chain management and group purchasing.

A former on-air television news reporter, managing editor, and executive producer for Gannett Broadcasting, he received his bachelor’s degree in science in telecommunication from the University of Florida—also where he began his career working for the UF Health more than 30 years ago.
